WHAT IS STARLINK
Starlink was set up by Elon Musk and his Space X team to offer low Latency Satellite Broadband to remote areas primarily, now the system is rolling out and more Starlink satellites are launched the coverage in the UK is getting better and by the end of 2022 the full country should have coverage.
STARLINK EQUIPTMENT
The Starlink equipment as like everything Elon Musk and his Space X team develop is elegant sophisticated and very simple to use but packed full of technology. A dish is fitted that comes complete with 30 m of cable that is then fed into a router that is situated indoors. The dish is very well built but quite heavy due to the built in motors as this is a dish that constantly moves and keeps itself aimed at the satellite. The router has built in wifi and one spare ethernet port that can be fed into another router etc. Once plugged in the dish aligns itself and constantly tracks the satellite you also have a handy app for all the data about the system.

The Starlink dish needs an open view of the sky virtually pointing straight up but the dish does move around depending on the position of the satellites, on the app there is a tool that allows you to check for obstructions. We only use heavy duty wall and chimney brackets that are galvanised steel so no rust and will hold the dish securely. The cable needs routing down and clipping to the wall and routing to a room that works best for your needs although cable is 30 meters long and cant be jointed also a 22mm hole is needed to get the cable through the wall.

We supply all the equipment to install your Starlink system for a fixed price fee of £200.00 this includes all parts and labour. Sometimes installations aren’t that straightforward if you are unsure feel free to get in touch and we will discuss with you.
